Location / Sulhampstead Abbots, England
In the sleepy hamlet village of Sulhampstead is a piece of architecture dating back to approximately 1189, the parish church has stood with field views far and wide. The beautiful small church is now known as St Mary’s but was originally St Bartholomew’s and has interior features including the Norman font.
Local residents together with Darren Naish and Michael of JG restorations were forced to renovate the church including the much needed new roof. Jgrestorations.co.uk had previously renovated the wonderful St Michaels church in Tilehurst village a few miles away using Lifestiles handmade orange tiles and planners, architects and locals loved the idea of using the Lifestiles handmade roof tiles.
The chosen blend for the roof was the original Berkshire orange tiles a subtle blend of orange and light red roof tiles, with the variation only occurring from the natural firing process of the clay.
I hope you agree that the 2 churches are fantastically restored pieces of architects and fully deserve their place in the Lifestiles showcase features.View this product
